1. Choose the inbox and enable the widget
Sign in to Handeza, open Settings, and choose the inbox that should receive messages from this website. Open its widget installation settings and enable the widget. Use separate inboxes when different products need different teams, knowledge or branding.
Each inbox has its own generated installation snippet. Copy the snippet from the inbox you intend to use; an example from another workspace will connect to the wrong inbox.
2. Add your allowed domains
In Allowed domains, enter the websites where the widget may appear. A blank list does not enable the widget everywhere. Include the hostname visitors actually use, such as example.com or www.example.com, and add a staging hostname if you will test there.
Keep this list specific to sites you control. If the widget reports a domain error, compare the current website hostname with the saved list before changing anything else.
3. Copy the generated snippet
Use Copy snippet in the installation section. Paste it into your site template before the closing </body> tag. Install it once in a shared layout if it should appear across the site, then publish your website changes.
For a site builder, use its custom code area that runs on the intended pages. If your site uses a content security policy, ask your developer to permit the Handeza script, widget frame and required connection destinations without disabling the policy.
4. Match your branding
Open Widget UI for the same inbox. Choose a theme, set your name, logo, colors and greeting, then save. Use the preview to check long text and contrast. Check the installed widget too: the website container and available screen space can differ from the preview.
5. Verify a full conversation
- Open your published website in a fresh browser window and open the widget.
- Send a clearly marked test message. Confirm it reaches the intended Handeza inbox.
- Reply from Inbox and confirm the visitor receives one copy.
- Set your agent availability to Away or Offline and check the visitor message flow.
- On a phone, open the keyboard and check that the composer and send button remain reachable.
- Briefly disconnect your test device, reconnect, and confirm the conversation recovers without duplicate messages.
If the widget does not appear
- Confirm the snippet is present on the published page and has not been installed twice.
- Check that the widget is enabled and the current hostname is allowed.
- Check your workspace trial or subscription access.
- Inspect browser blocking, consent settings and content security policy errors with your developer.
- After saving settings, reload the page when you have no unsent message.
